Dear fellow cyclists and supporters of Family Promise of San Gabriel Valley:

This is the 3rd Annual Bike Tour to benefit Family Promise SGV's programs supporting families in homelessness. Let’s each find as many friends and coworkers as we can to be partners in supporting this outstanding organization. Set a high goal for raising funds and then go out and surpass it!

Choose your own mileage. You can ride as little as 8 miles, choose the 16-mile short round trip route, or if you are fully prepared, over 60 miles! All riders must wear a bike helmet, regardless of age. Youth under the age of 18 must have a parent riding with them.

The Bike Tour is not a race and riders are expected to stay behind the designated lead rider. Our focus is to have a safe, enjoyable ride and raise a lot of money for a great organization.

Here are more details about this year’s Tour:

Tour Description

Saturday May 19th

Church of the Good Shepherd (CGS)

400 W Duarte Road, Arcadia

Riders should arrive at CGS by 7:30 AM. If you have a red shirt for riding, you will be more easily identified as one of our riders. Check in at the registration table and you will also be given a numbered bib that shows you are part of the group. We will gather for a group photo and sendoff around 8:15 AM. After everyone returns to the church, lunch will be served.

You have 3 choices for your ride (mileage is approximate):

Mini Tour (8 miles) – Riders will pick up the bike path after riding city streets for a few miles. Regular road traffic will mean that riders need to follow all regular traffic laws. The ride is level or downhill the entire way. After the 8-mile ride bikes and riders will be picked up and driven back to the church.

Midi Tour (16 miles) – The first 8 miles is the same as the Mini Tour. After a short break with provided snacks, riders will ride back up to the church.

Maxi Tour (63 miles) –There will be limited sag support on this ride, so riders need to be in top shape and carry plenty of water and some snacks. There will be a couple of gathering stops to keep riders together. At the half way point there will be a break with a chance to use a restroom, eat provided snacks, and refill water bottles.

Please register before Saturday, May 12, so those buying snacks and serving lunch can properly prepare. Click here to proceed to registration. Any questions? Please email me: mrenfrew@me.com
